We know that as your children approach 4th, 5th, 6th grades and beyond, you have options in your child's education. At Kramer, we are committed to providing our students with enriching experiences that support their academic growth and personal development. We are excited to invite you to learn more about the fantastic opportunities available for your children, both at Kramer and as they transition to Franklin Middle School.

We encourage you to take an active role in your child’s educational journey. Attend our upcoming information session to learn more about how we can support your child’s growth. Your involvement makes a significant difference!

First Day of School + Breakfast For New Parents

New Parent Breakfast

If you are new to Kramer Elementary, we invite you to join us for a special New Parent Breakfast hosted by the PTA:

  • Date: Monday, August 12

  • Time: 7:45 - 8:15 AM

  • Location: Learning Lab (See map below)

Enjoy coffee and a light breakfast while getting to know other new families and learning more about our school.

Please park on Mason Dells and walk directly to the β€œLearning Lab.”

 

Morning Arrival and Drop-Off

beginning at 7:30am

Parents are not allowed to enter the building to escort their students.

Important Parking Information:

  • No Parking Zones: Due to safety, limited space and ongoing construction, we encourage you to utilize the carpool line. Please do not park on Midbury or St. Judes

  • Carpool Line: Use the designated carpool line for dropping off your students.

  • Staff Parking Lot: Do not enter the staff parking lot.

Carpool Drop-Off Instructions:

  • Location: Westbound on Midbury, from St. Michaels.

  • Drop-Off Point: Corner of Midbury at St. Judes intersection..

  • Assistance: Staff will be present to help students enter the building.

First Day and First Week of School:

  • Student Drop-Off: For safety reasons and limited space, parents are not allowed to walk their children to class. Staff will assist students to class as needed.

  • First Day of School New to Kramer Parent Breakfast: If attending, please park on Mason Dells Dr. and enter through visitor entrance.

Afternoon Dismissal

begins at 3:20pm

  • Dismissal of Pre-K, Kinder, 1st, and 2nd graders and their older siblings:

    • Carpool Direction: Westbound on Midbury, from St. Michaels.

    • Pick up Location: Corner of Midbury at St. Judes intersection

    • Assistance: Adults will be present to to ensure student safety

    • Carpool Sign: To facilitate a smooth process, please use the Carpool Sign that will be provided on Meet the Teacher Night. Additional signs are available from your teacher.

    • Staff Parking Lot: Do not enter the staff parking lot.

    • Parking: Do not park on Midbury or St. Judes. We encourage use the carpool process instead.

    Dismissal of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders:

    • Pick-Up Location: Tunica Dr, in the southbound direction.

    • Students will be supervised by teachers and load into cars from gate exit by the portables

    Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and efficient dismissal process!

Clear Backpacks

The district will provide clear backpacks for every student. Schools will receive the clear backpacks before the first day of the school year. The campus principal will communicate the distribution process of the clear backpacks to families. The district will not provide mesh backpacks. Click HERE for more information.

Student Dress Code

Please see the Dallas ISD page for more details about school uniform information HERE.

Navy Blue, Kelly Green, or White Shirts are acceptable.


Bus Information

  • Students who ride the bus will exit and board the buses on St. Judes.

  • Please see Dallas ISD Transportation page for Bus routes and policies: https://www.dallasisd.org/transportation

  • If your child receives transportation through Special Education services, that will be arranged through the Special Education Department.


YMCA After-School Program

The YMCA offers an after school care program on the Kramer campus

Parents can easily register at www.ymcadallas.org/afterschool.

Open House & Meet the Teacher

Open House & Meet the Teacher Night:

Thursday, August 8 from 5:00-7:00 pm (come and go)

- Date and Time: Thursday, August 8 5:00-7:00 pm

- Location: Families will enter the Student Entry Door on the St. Judes side (see arrival map).

- Come and Go: Feel free to drop in during the event times. The event ends at 7:00pm.

- Class Assignments: Upon entry, you’ll find your child’s class assignments posted.

- Teacher Meet & Greet: Meet your child’s teacher and see their classroom.

What to Bring:

- Supplies: If possible, please bring your child’s school supplies and label the box of supplies with your child’s name (labeling each individual supply is not necessary)

If you are unable to attend Meet the Teacher

- Rosters will be posted on Kramer School Remind the next day. Be sure to join if you have not already!

- Staff will be available to assist students in finding their classes at the student entrance.
