MARCH PTA UPDATES

We’ve had a busy month at Kramer with visits from the Dairy Farmers, School Pictures and the Father Daughter Dance.  Thank you to the PTA Dance Committee for a fun filled event.

We are looking for quite a few members to join the Kramer PTA Board.  Many members are leaving as they have a student graduating from 5th grade.  Other members have hit their term limit. If you’d like to learn more about what we do, please ask!  Without PTA, our students and school would be without many things. Greatest needs include website design, athletics, president, treasurer and membership.

Our last and biggest school fundraiser will be on Saturday, April 18th from 10am-3pm.  The 4th Annual Northaven Home Tour will be held Saturday, April 18th and showcase the neighborhoods in proximity to Northaven Road east from Central Expressway stretching west just beyond the North Dallas Tollway. Tour proceeds benefit the award-winning school, Arthur Kramer Elementary.   For details or to volunteer, please visit the Home Tour Website (https://www.northavenhometour.com/).  Candy’s Dirt wrote more here (https://candysdirt.com/?s=tornado).

FEBRUARY PTA UPDATES

Dear Fellow Colts,

The Kramer PTA and our tour committee gave careful consideration in putting forth the Northaven Home Tour again this year in light of the recent tornado devastation, but we made the decision to move forward, inspired by North Haven Gardens and the resilience of our neighbors. This year, we are committing 5% of our proceeds from the 2020 tour go directly to the Dallas Education Foundation to aid those affected by the recent tornado. We are focusing our reach all along/around Northaven Road from Central to the North Texas Tollway. Please LIKE us on FACEBOOK and Follow us on INSTAGRAM. In addition to social media, details can be found at https://www.northavenhometour.com/.  If you are interested in supporting this event, please reach out to kramerPTA@gmail.com.

Spring Sports registration is upon us and now available online at https://kramerelementary.org/athletics.  Kramer Elementary plays through scholarships offered to only Kramer Elementary enrolled students.  The Semones Family YMCA does not charge for our students to play. The $30 fee and $15 jersey requirement covers the cost of equipment and supplies for each sport.  The parents who coach and help organize this wonderful opportunity for our Colts work on a volunteer basis. Online registration is available until February 3. There will be onsite sports registration at the Black History Month Celebration on February 6 to accept any cash or check payments.

Moving forward, if you are not a current Kramer enrolled student but would like to play on a Kramer team, you must reach out to kramerathletics@gmail.com AND go the the Semones Family YMCA to pay the required sports fee. Having non-Kramer students play on our teams has jeopardized our scholarship status and we are at risk of losing this wonderful opportunity.

We always need coaches in order for a team to form and a benefit of coaching is that your child plays for free. If you’d like to coach or get more information, including the coupon code to have the fee waived, please email Rita at kramerathletics@gmail.com.  All Coaches must be cleared through Voly (https://dallasisd.voly.org/).

Did you know that Kramer hosts a district Chess Tournament each spring?  Information about volunteers and donations can be found here:  https://kramerelementary.org/chess.

The Kramer Spirit Wear team is looking for additional help with ordering and delivering spirit orders.  Please contact Rachel if you are interested at repugh@hotmail.com.

I hope you can join us on February 6 at 5:30 for the next PTA meeting.  We will review the budget and upcoming activities.

Thank you,

Alden Brosseau

President, Kramer PTA

First Day of School and Boo Hoos and Yahoos Parent Coffee

August 19th

Welcome 2019-2020 School Year! This morning you can walk your child into the school beginning at 7:15 am. For the FIRST DAY only, parents are welcome to come inside the building and wait with their child in their waiting area: PK-1st in the auditorium, 2nd-4th in the gym, and 5th grade in the cafeteria. The teachers will pick up the students at 7:45 am to take them to their classroom. You are welcome to escort your child to the classroom.

Parents are invited to attend our BooHoo and Yahoos breakfast in the Learning Lab at 7:55, or otherwise exit the campus, so our students can begin the new school year!

After drop off, join us in the Learning Lab, the portable building next to the cafeteria for coffee and pastries. You may be team “Boo Hoo” or team “Yahoo” or maybe a combination of both but join us, we would love to see you. We ask that you do not exit the campus through the building. No one will be allowed back into the school building. Thank you for making the first day of school a great one for our students.

If you would like to volunteer for this event, please email kramerpta@gmail.com!
