welcome future colts!

We are excited about your interest in Kramer Elementary and invite you to join us at events throughout the school year to get to know Kramer and our community.

Kramer is proud to offer the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) to ALL students enrolled at our campus.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) program develops inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IB organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

our school

Our mission at Arthur Kramer Elementary is to develop self-reliant learners through inquiry based instruction, reflection, and goal-setting. In order to instill a desire for lifelong learning, we aim to intrinsically motivate students through purposeful, engaging lessons that impact their beliefs and mold their thinking. Ultimately, Kramer fosters students to have a respect and appreciation for all cultures and equip them with the resources they need to successfully compete within a 21st century community, so that they are prepared to change the world.

Kramer is founded on preparing our students to become productive and contributing citizens to our global society.  For this reason, we implemented both a 1-way and a 2-way dual language program.  This program teaches Spanish and English through academic content.  Our program is unique in that students are partnered based on their native language and are an integral part to each other’s learning.  Spanish and English is not taught in isolation but is acquired through learning the content in the designated language.  This rigorous program helps develop our students to become global citizens.

Kramer prides itself on our belief that effective instruction makes the most difference in students’ academic performance.  Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds and experiences to deliver quality instruction to meet the needs of all learners.  Our digital classrooms are equipped with Smartboards, as well as Chrome Books for every 3rd-5th grade student.  At Kramer, we ensure our students are receiving 21st century skills and becoming digitally literate.

As a campus, we are committed to offering a comprehensive learning experience that includes art, physical education, music/orchestra, and garden. We also provide enrichment opportunities to all of our students including a competitive Math Team, UIL team, Chess Club, Garden Club, Art Club, Kids Rock, Orchestra, Talented and Gifted, the DISD Lonestar Challenge, and Destination Imagination.

Our blended community is a fundamental piece to the success of our school. The supportive PTA joins and leads campus events throughout the year. Other opportunities to become involved include Dad’s Club, Site-based Decision Making, field trip chaperones, mentor tutoring, projects for teachers, and volunteering.

Thank you for your interest in Kramer! We are committed to the success of your child, and look forward to you joining us in this vision.

ib program

IB is a framework of researched based, best educational practices. The goals for all IB PYP schools are that students leave Kramer with a global mindset and a desire to participate in the world around them. This occurs through the development of the IB Learner Profile. This profile produces a compassionate learner who is well informed, prepared to think critically, and problem solve in any given situation.

Kramer teachers implement the IB elements by utilizing the IB Learner Profile, approaches to teaching themes, approaches to learning skills, and inquiry based learning in everyday instruction. All students at Kramer (Pre-K through 5th grade) are IB PYP students.

Added to these academic elements are the IB PYP Attitudes and Action Cycle. Together, all of these IB PYP elements empower our Kramer students to take action in order to make the world a better place!

IB Themes (shape the experience of students in IB Primary Years Programme):

Who We Are

Where We Are in Time and Place

How We Express Ourselves

How the World Works

How We Organize Ourselves

Sharing the Planet

Our Vision:

Kramer seeks to inspire our students to become critical thinkers and global citizens so that they may positively contribute to the community around them.

Our Mission:

Our mission at Arthur Kramer Elementary is to develop self-reliant, motivated learners through inquiry-based instruction and student agency. As a learning community, we strive to ensure that students are equipped with the resources they need to successfully compete in a 21st century community so that they are prepared to change the world for the better.
